SevaUnite's main aim is facilitating selfless service.

Seva is a Sanskrit word, meaning service: Selfless service which is performed without any thought of reward or personal benefit. Seva strengthens relations between people, and guides individuals towards spiritual growth.

  • We initiate projects in impoverished communities with the desire to uplift and empower, and to involve volunteers directly in seva.
  • We support our volunteers and help them discover that work and action are paths to personal growth and self realisation.

Interactions that occur in our projects are therefore win-win as everyone involved is uplifted.

Through our various projects, SevaUnite works with the following groups of people:

  • HIV-positive people
  • Prisoners
  • Children
  • Impoverished communities
  • At-risk youth
  • NGO's and groups working in various social sectors including HIV prevention, addiction, abuse, health, education, elderly, and community upliftment.

SevaUnite aims to create the following within the communities and groups we work with:

  • Self empowerment, providing means in which people are able to do things for themselves that help to improve their quality of life.
  • Tools that help boost their immunity and manage chronic and terminal illnesses like HIV, TB, cancer etc.
  • Poverty alleviation, education and support.
  • Training in life skills.
