What is seva?

Imagine a world where we all spent more of our time finding creative ways to help, love and serve each other. We could totally transform our existence!

Seva is a Sanskrit word which means service. SevaUnite identifies ways for you to selflessly serve.

Through Distributions or our Yoga for Africa projects, we get people doing Seva.

Why?

Because it’s good for you, and it’s good for everybody else too! Through service, we can further discover that our lives are filled with deep meaning and purpose. The path of Seva challenges us to explore our stuff, our stories, our issues. It pushes us out of our comfort zones, allowing us to further expand and grow.

And it’s so simple, you can begin RIGHT NOW.

The next person you encounter who needs your help, really be present with them. Feel them out, listen, watch, and the appropriate response to their needs will present itself to. Have courage and act!

Why Yoga?

The affirming, healing and rehabilitative benefits of yoga for people living in stressful environments are enormously beneficial. Yoga can bring us to a state of acceptance and love with ourselves and for all those around us.

Why Distributions?

In South Africa, the discrepancy between those who have and those who do not is great. SevaUnite collects unused/unwanted clothing, toys and household items from those who no longer need them, and redistributes them to those who could most certainly use them. We like to spread love!
